WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?

Reading

  • Preview the selection and set a purpose for reading.
  • Make connections before, during, and after reading text.
  • Describe characters, setting, and important events.

  • Retell stories and events, using beginning, middle, and end, and including key details.

Science

  • Classify objects according ot their type of movement (straight, circular, back-and-forth).

  • Classify solids and liquids into groups by how they act in water.

Math

  • The student will count from 0 to 120, starting from any number less than 120, and write the corresponding numerals.

  • The student will count backward by ones from 30.

  • The student will identify the ordinal position first through fifteenth, using an ordered set of objects and write the ordinal number 1st-15th.

Social

Studies

  • Describe the role of individuals in communities. 

  • Explain how citizens help the community make decisions.

  • Identify traditions and symbols of the United States. (Pledge of Allegiance; American flag)
